Deborah Sampson Revolutionary Quotes

Un livre à croquer

If there is one book to have in their library it is this one. For my part, I long to get it for editing had long been sold out in bookstores. Yet I knew by hearsay that "Talking crunch" by Claude Duneton was a work which must put into words many still abstract notions at the time for me. One day, I managed to find internet treasure, and what was not my enlightenment by opening the pages of this book appeared in 1973 with a major publisher in Paris.
A reissue that comes at
With editions "of Lo Chamin feels Jaume," which comes from the reissue, you'll enjoy your turn to prose alert, ironic, and relevant Claude Duneton in a "Talk Crunch" timeless. Throughout the pages, the author explains in part from personal experience why 14 million Occitan in 1930 are more than 1.5 million 70 years later. As harassment, renunciation, and humiliation it took to get there. But the interest of the work does not stop there, it also lies in a very detailed study of the French language, its origin to the present, highlighting its strengths and weaknesses. It then finds the answers to the current problem of teaching the language of Voltaire. Claude Duneton fact a comparison unexpected and very jubilant between Occitan, French and English. Many misconceptions are thus undermined. People who would have remained in the thoughts of the nineteenth century will find the opportunity to do a makeover show and intellectual in a different light the question of sustainability and the transmission of regional languages.
"Talking crunch" has not waned and his new edition is timely to come and lead the debate on the merits of the Occitan language teaching in our schools. Talking Duneton

L’art de nous raconter

Being an artist in rural areas is not easy. During the years in our performing arts department was confined to an artistic expression of import, seeing in local actors and amateurs, it was more difficult. And if you took over the idea of expressing yourself in Occitan, then it is worth better pack up. That's what was at the time that Monique Burg moved to London to train to the theater where she lived for eleven years. Once trilingual, Occitan, French, English, and a rich experience, beautiful redhead who would make jealous many Irish returned to their land-use and full sarladaises reason.
An artist with many facets
meantime things had changed in the country. Gradually the Occitan culture had earned a place in politics and Cultural Action of the Perigord and Aquitaine. Monique Burg was the rendezvous. Both storyteller, actress and singer, this artist with a strong personality and haunting voice and participation in recent years in many projects. She was involved in the collecting of memory Occitan northern Dordogne. And it is that Pamela Varela chose to reach out to women and making them tell in the film "Las Sason. Similarly, for the show "Imagination", built around the collecting of five regions of Occitan, she was the teller who was speaking to the Périgord: the obvious. If

Per far dançar Carnaval

I am one of those people who think need being an actor in the party, not a spectator. Nothing irritates me is sadder than to attend a carnival parade of floats without being able to sing or dance. So if you're like me, Cap'oc with the help of the association Pantalonada Carnival has just released the kit of good little festaire Mardi Gras: Carnival Danças. This book-CD is an indispensable tool for teachers of elementary and middle school for animators as day camps for all citizens who wish to learn the secret songs and dances of the Carnival of Aquitaine.
The booklet is in three parts. First are presented 17 songs in Occitan to dance with a French translation. The second part presents the basic steps. Finally come the development and progress of each dance whose words are proposed in the first third of the book, in addition to 7 other dances. In the box are also two CDs. The first is made to learn with simple harmonies. The second is a normal rhythm for dancing and singing to the world.
A simple and effective tool
From the first reading we feel that the creators of the book have the practice of active learning easier. The method has been tried and tested on the ground with young audiences and allows a group to quickly learn to sing and dance. This is the ideal tool to prepare the carnival of 2010 in Perigord. It should be noted that a videotape will be available to complement the current year on the website of Cap'oc.
When I tell you that most of the dances offered may also be practiced throughout the year nothing will prevent you buy this package.

L’accent qu’es aquò ?

"Roots full excavation. Innumerable. This is not the question of the number that bothers me, but the norm. I hear it. Huge and everywhere. Casually. On the radio, on TV, in our machines and phones, in advertising or answering machines. The voice of the great neutral. Everything else in the talk of the streets, fields, people and their faces ... As an investigator, he invites us to a beautiful walk that goes from the University of Toulouse Le Mirail in Laguiole through the banks of the Lot and the markets of Armagnac. This quest ethnolinguistic can reconstruct the history of the people of this country, understand what made the genius of this company Languedoc rich and varied, always moving, and how their accents are one of the finest brand identity . I enjoyed the portraits that form the backbone of the book. I learned about rugby, racing cows, the place of women in pre-revolutionary society Pyrenees. The verb

seduced by the writing of André Minvielle. Invigorating and creative she gives flesh and meaning to events. Setting photos of Jean-Philippe Arles is also making remarkable crossover by each character Dede Minvielle a hero of everyday life. The idea is to have the book with a CD where you can listen to the voice, accent, all the actors in this merry investigation of meaning and sound.
I only regret that this wonderful journey into the heart of the Languedoc was not extended to Aquitaine. To meet all these people, one feels intuitively that our region goes far beyond its administrative borders.
